They don’t get much worse than this, but it’s a life bird for me! If you dare guess…Pic taken somewhere in the Apalachicola National Forest in freezing cold Florida.
First find a marshy place with a dock. Around the dock, look for some comfortable pilings where the bird might like to perch. Can you hear the evil cackling from behind my computer screen? 😉 I imagine there’s enough here for guessing anyway. As to hints, well… the pic was taken roadside, behind a restaurant featuring pasties. And I did eventually learn the proper pronunciation of that delicacy, but not before embarrassing myself with the waitress.
Here’s a hint: pic taken today in Northern Michigan at a state park’s feeder. Happy guessing!
Count the purple sandpipers! Careful… they do blend in well with their surroundings. I’m always amazed with their nonchalance as they hunt for food where the rough sea crashes against the rocks. Some even seem to be napping!
