found it spread with sun among the mountains and laughed at my urge to escape the last bitter days of a too long winter.<br \/><\/span><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.somewhereinnj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/trillium.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5313227473115792850\" style=\"DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.somewhereinnj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/trillium-300x200.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-size:85%;\">Where shade lies deep in hilly woodlands, trilliums were hurried to bloom in the unseasonable heat of an early March day.<br \/><\/span><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.somewhereinnj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/bluets.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5313227356711532034\" style=\"DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.somewhereinnj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/bluets-300x200.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-size:85%;\">Patches of bluets frosted the early green of grass at our feet and tempted the eye of passing butterflies.<br \/><\/span><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.somewhereinnj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/hepatica.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5313227264322558882\" style=\"DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.somewhereinnj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/hepatica-300x200.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-size:85%;\">Among the leaf mold on rocky hillsides we found hepatica blooming and the promise of dogtooth violets in the dampness alongside the river.<br \/><\/span><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.somewhereinnj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/fernandmoss.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5313227138224783410\" style=\"DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.somewhereinnj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/fernandmoss-300x200.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-size:85%;\">Lush ferns and mosses trailside hinted at the beauty that&#8217;ll come later when the mountain laurel and rhododendron bloom above them.<\/p>\n<p>With any luck, I&#8217;ll find these same beauties closer to home in a couple weeks, with the same wonder and hope in my heart, reaching still for something beyond.<\/p>\n<p>Spring&#8230;
