\">First find a marshy place<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">with a dock.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">Around the dock, look for some comfortable pilings<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">where the bird might like to perch.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">Then, on the pilings, photograph something for the tern<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">something beautiful and strange that will make it feel at home.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">(I found a couple pelicans.)<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">Then wait with your camera.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">Don&#8217;t speak.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">Don&#8217;t move.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">(Hide behind a piling if you have to.)<\/div>\n<p><\/span><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.somewhereinnj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/tern4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.somewhereinnj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/tern3-300x200.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400056697357521394\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">When the bird comes<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">if it comes,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">remain absolutely silent.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">Wait until the bird poses for you<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">then quietly take frame after frame.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">Move closer if you like.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">Try not to cut off its tail feathers.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">If you get too distracted or excited<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">and forget to show the best angle on the bird<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">or have too much pelican in the background<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">don&#8217;t worry.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">(You can fix most anything in PhotoShop later.)<\/div>\n<p><\/span><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.somewhereinnj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/tern1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display:block; \"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">It helps to have a <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Canon-100-400mm-f4-5-5-6L-Telephoto-Cameras\/dp\/B00007GQLS\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=photo&amp;qid=1257302556&amp;sr=1-1\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">great lens<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> when taking photos of birds.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;
