Today’s the halfway mark to 40 and I hope it’s safe to share… there’s been progress, but I need, really, to get busy. I carried a couple things from last year, things that still feel fun or meaningful to me:<\/p>\n

1 Try blue nail polish or purple… anything besides boring.<\/span><\/p>\n

2 Go iceskating.<\/p>\n

3 See a really rare bird.<\/span><\/p>\n

4 Dip my toes in that other ocean.<\/s><\/p>\n

5 Hike a mountain without complaining too loudly.<\/p>\n

6 Stay up all night to watch the sunrise. Stay in bed the rest of the day. Do not feel guilty.<\/p>\n

7 Try a photography project.
\n<\/span>
\n8 Buy a bicycle. With a basket. For flowers.<\/p>\n

9 Wander aimlessly.<\/p>\n

10 Get the nerve up to submit something to qarrtsiluni.<\/p>\n

11 Cross paths with a moose.<\/p>\n

12 Buy the perfect magic dress.<\/s><\/p>\n

13 Finally tackle shorebirds.<\/p>\n

14 Have my palm read on the boardwalk<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

15 Learn to like flash.<\/p>\n

16 Ride a train.<\/p>\n

17 Perfect a fake accent.<\/p>\n

18 Smile in a bikini.<\/span><\/p>\n

19 Surprise someone.<\/p>\n

20 Surprise myself.<\/span><\/p>\n

21 Renew my passport.<\/p>\n

22 Ask forgiveness.<\/s><\/p>\n

23 Go maple-syruping.<\/p>\n

24 Try out a new recipe.<\/span><\/p>\n

25 Fly a kite at the beach.<\/s><\/p>\n

26 Sleep outside under the stars.<\/p>\n

27 Read five new authors.<\/p>\n

28 Build a sandcastle.
\n<\/span>
\n29 Let it go.<\/p>\n

30 Learn how to wolf-whistle.<\/p>\n

31 Find an old person to teach me how to play canasta.<\/p>\n

32 Get a good Pine Barrens map.
\n<\/span>
\n33 Find a photobooth. Make funny faces at the camera.<\/span><\/p>\n

34 Learn the names of 5 constellations in the winter sky.<\/s><\/p>\n

35 Read a novel in Spanish.<\/p>\n

36 Explore a National Park.
\n<\/span>
\n37 Do that one thing I’ve been putting off.<\/span><\/p>\n

38 Do that other thing I’ve been putting off.<\/p>\n
