Mid-week bunny fix

No… not one of my pampered housebunnies, but a wild one caught freeloading in the veggie garden.

The neighborhood cottontails seem to know they can get away with it here. The groundhogs still haven’t figured out they’re not welcome, after many years of well-aimed flip-flops tossed in their direction.

  1. What a sweet bun! My father and I once spent several hours watching a bunny dig a burrow in his veggie garden. It wouldn’t have occurred to either one of us to shoo it away or anything. We can get veggies at the store any time we want them. Not so, the little bunnies! 🙂

  2. I think I see some disapproval there. 🙂 Even the wild ones are good at showing they disapprove of you!

  3. I love the sunlight through his well-fed ears.
We saw an odd rabbit at Hasty Brook two weeks ago- smaller, oval ears, dark fur, and enormous hind feet. I described it to Deb from Sand Creek Alamanac when she was visiting that afternoon and she said it was most likely a snowshoe hare!! Woo hoo! Life mammal!

  4. bunnygirl: they’re just too cute to chase off.

one of the coolest things i saw in ND was a jackrabbit – huge feet and legs!
