Skywatch Friday

Taken two months ago (nearly to the day) a few miles southwest of Carrington North Dakota. The *ridge* or what passes for one on the prairie, seen in the far distance where the radio towers are barely visibe, is a couple hundred feet above the surrounding plains.

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Have to admit though that I’m not a big fan of hawks since they like to chase down and capture smaller birds in our subdivision. I’ve even caught them by my bird feeder in our yard. My wife would rather them go after mice and other rodents instead.

  2. Great photo! I love the sign with the sky and clouds over it. It’s like “Hawks Nest Ridge” is welcoming you to the sky and its world! Great photo!

  3. What a beautiful wide open sky. I’m from NJ too, and it does seem strange to see such endless plains, doesn’t it? Beautiful Skywatch photo!

  4. Thanks for dropping by my HaikuFriday/SkyWatch ‘Cloudy Sunrise’ at Sacred Ruminations last weekend and leaving the link back here. Today’s photo and title made me laugh aloud … and the sailing photo reminds me of my younger dayz. This is a lovely blue sky with wonderful contrast of land and clouds! I’m glad I didn’t miss it ;–)
    Hugs and blessings,
