Checking in

I’m trying out this *blogging without obligation* thing lately, have you noticed?

😉

My camera’s been collecting dust this week and that makes it hard to write anything here. Anyone else mostly write that way; with an image to spark an idea to write about?

Anyhow… I thought I should check in and let you all know that I’m still alive and busy and running around like the proverbial chicken without a …

  1. I find it REALLY hard to write anything without pictures to spark it. I think the blogging without obligation thing is good. I get caught up in writing, however.

  2. Sometimes the picture sparks the words. Some times it’s the other way around, and I feel the need to find a picture or take one to fit the words. Either way, I think a picture really helps.

I like your bright, colorful chicken

  3. Now, THAT would have been an interesting picture….lol… just kidding. Glad you are well and just busy! :c)

  4. I usually end up with waves of suitable stuff. In a day’s walk I may find 3 appropriate subjects that I focus on, then brew for a couple days as I compose text to set them up. But, without the pictures, the stories just don’t grab the readers to visit.
Other days, I may resort to my archives for something from last year that I never worked on. I’m surprised how much I leave in my photo folder, never shared!

  5. Yes, I tend to be a picture-sparks-word blogger too. After a soggy February, it’s been hard to find something to say about leaden gray skies and choppy seas. So, silence over at Dharma Bums. I sense a transition in the blogging world, and I can’t tell if it’s just me or a whole cohort of bloggers who came on line a couple of years ago. A slower pace.

  6. I recently had two weeks of no obligation to the blog. I loved it. Camera collected dust. It’s all good, Laura!
