  1. Don’t you just love talkative toads? I am counting on your to get some soft porn toad images, you know.

I have American Toads and a few bullfrogs. Between the two of us, we’ll have a reproducing summer!

  3. Mary and John: I dragged my husband along on a visit to the Pine Barrens this afternoon and he found this toad! We were walking along one of the sandy trails in the Franklin Parker Preserve, me with my bins and camera, and the DH with his metal detector and he scared the toad up with one of the passes of the detector – it was the only thing he found today for all the beeping that darn thing did! They were making a real racket along the edges of the cranberry bogs.

  4. I am not familiar with Fowler’s Toad but does look different from our American Toad! I would have loved to one day find this toad!

  5. handsome creature. do you know if it’s a male or female? I love its markings. We must seem like alien giants to these lil’ fellas….

  6. I am fortunate to have a number of toads in my garden and have to be careful when using the spade in the ferns. I have never looked at them closely though…

  7. LOL! I totally did not get the title of your post until I played the audio clip! A funny song for a warty toad!!

  8. Nice toad, I am so behind, just read the last three posts. I like how you go from beauty to a warty toad!

Did you notice that most of us ARE more interested in toads and flowers than looking lovely!

  9. See!? Dragging our hubbies along on nature outings occasionally has nice pay-offs:0) Very nice toad pix.

  10. No toads here yet, although we have peepers and dandelions. Lots of great pictures here this week. I love your grebe. That is pretty special!
